This is one of the most frequently asked questions. Nowadays, I believe the most commonly known type of artificial nails is Gel Nails<\/a>, where you apply a layer of liquid on the nails then put them under the blue light to make them hard. In fact, before Gel nails, there was another type of artificial nail \u2013 Acrylic Nails which have been extensively used for 20+ years, while Soak off Gel is one of the latest technologies under the Gel System. Technique<\/strong><\/td>\nBy using a Kolinski brush to apply a mixture of polymer powder and a liquid monomer on real nails. Then the mixtures start to harden in 30-40 seconds in room temperature.<\/td>\nA pre-mixed Polymer Resin, only hardens under ultraviolet light. Also applied on buffed real nails. The material hardens in room temperature very quickly, so it is a very intensive technique which takes years of practice and experience to master.<\/td>\n

Gel, which is liquid, is not easy to control. If it\u2019s applied out-of-bound to 2 sides, or even under the nails on free edge, clients will suffer from painful UV light heat. (Especially if extension is needed). Also if the base gel is not cleared thoroughly, new color would appear turbid. Inexperienced technician will have difficulties in making a smooth curvy surface.<\/td>\nIts purpose is to mimic real natural nail, so its texture is relatively slim, therefore not suitable for extension or 3D nail arts.<\/a><\/td>\nChoices of color is limited at the moment and not suitable for nail art with too many textures.\u3002<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

If extension is needed, this will be the best material as a base support. (especially for people with short nail plates)<\/td>\n

Comparatively easier to control than Acrylic, because the Gel will not harden before you put it under UV, you won\u2019t have a \u201ctime challenge\u201d like Acrylic, means you have much more time to mold the shapes.<\/td>\n

No need to have intensive buff on real nails.<\/p>\n

You could take off the whole set of Gel every time by just \u201cSOAKing\u201d them into a special remover.<\/p>\n

Very long lasting color, and most importantly your daily activities like wearing contact lens or picking coins or paper clips from table will have the least obstruction because it is really natural.<\/td>\n

Overall quality improved compare to Soak-Off Gel.<\/p>\n
