Making Two Types of Nail Art
“Rainbow Nails” was founded in 2004 by Helen, who has years of nail art experience. Two years ago, she started hosting workshops and teaching children nail art at party events. Among them, the “Fingertip Magician — Exclusive Press-on Nail Creative Camp” lets children transform into little manicurists to try out the new experience of easy-to-wear and easy-to-remove nails. In the two-hour workshop, children can master the methods of making two types of press-on nails, including the basic techniques of nail stamping and the cat-eye effect. It’s simple, easy to do, fun, and pretty—plus, sticking them on doesn’t damage their natural nails.

This workshop is suitable for children aged 5 or above. Founder and instructor Helen first explains the tools used, then lets them choose 3 colors to apply to the press-on nails, allowing them to learn about different color palettes and matching—for example, “cool” tones like blue and dark grey, or the pink tones that girls love. Then, they gently brush 3 layers of color onto the press-on nails and place them under a UV lamp to cure for a minute and a half. Following that, they choose two colors of nail polish, apply a thick layer on the press-on nails, and use a magnetic wand to sweep out different textures to create the cat-eye style, followed by another round under the UV lamp. Finally, stickers or rhinestones are applied to the nails, completing a cute and creative press-on nail set. These press-on nails can last for about two days, and if they fall off, they can be easily reattached using nail adhesive tabs.

Training Focus and Patience
By participating in this nail art workshop, children can learn basic nail art techniques and how to use the tools. Additionally, the production process requires focus and patience, encouraging them to put down their phones and concentrate on learning nail art. There are also many detailed steps involved, which help develop the children’s hand-eye coordination. Choosing colors and accessories can enhance their autonomy and creativity, enabling them to make their favorite press-on nails, which brings them immense happiness and satisfaction.

The tools used for making press-on nails include: a UV lamp, brushes, nail colors/polishes, rhinestones, stickers, blank press-on nails, a cat-eye magnetic wand, nail adhesive tabs, base coat, and color polish, etc.

1. Choose 3 colors and test/apply them on white paper.
2. After matching the correct size for the press-on nails, apply the color evenly onto the press-on nails.
3. Place them under the UV lamp to cure for a minute and a half.
4. Choose 2 colors of nail polish and apply them to the press-on nails.
5. Use a magnetic wand to sweep out different textures on the press-on nails, then place them in the UV lamp to cure for 20 seconds.
6. Apply stickers or rhinestones to the press-on nails.
7. Apply a top coat.
8. Apply adhesive tabs to the back of the press-on nails, clean the natural fingernails, and then press them onto the fingers to finish.
